Soapstone is open for visitors one day a year for those placing a stone (see Stones for Soapstone). We are no longer having open houses for the public out at Soapstone.

We host an open house each year in Portland where you can find out about Soapstone, meet other writers, and enjoy readings by former Soapstone residents. Light refreshments are served. Everyone is welcome.

Our open house in 2008 will be Wednesday evening, September 17, from 7 to 9:30.

It will be combined with a celebration of the tenth anniversary of the writing residency program funded by RACC and the Oregon Arts Commission.
